Jayden Ojeda and PremiAir Racing have secured a top-10 finish in the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500, with the #31 Chevrolet Camaro recovering 13 positions in Saturday’s Race 31 to finish 10th in challenging wet conditions at Surfers Paradise.
The weekend presented a difficult start for Ojeda, with the team working to find pace across Friday’s sessions. The #31 finished Practice 1 in P20 and Practice 2 in P22 before qualifying 23rd for Saturday’s opening race.
Despite starting towards the rear of the field, Ojeda delivered an impressive recovery in Race 31. With the track declared wet, the 85-lap race began behind the Safety Car before the field was released, with spray, standing water and close traffic creating challenging conditions throughout. Working alongside its sister PremiAir Racing entry, the #31 made steady progress through the field, with Ojeda ultimately crossing the line in 10th.
The 13-position gain earned Ojeda the Equip Super Biggest Mover award, recognising the largest improvement of any driver in Race 31 of the 2026 championship.
“Happy to get back from 23rd to finish 10th. Massive job by the team to get it done today in tricky conditions.” said Ojeda.
Sunday brought another demanding day for the PremiAir Racing squad, with wet weather continuing to affect conditions around the Surfers Paradise street circuit. Ojeda progressed through the opening qualifying stage to record P13 before finishing the second stage in P17, setting up another challenging race from further back in the field.
Race 32 proved difficult for the #31, with damage sustained during the second stint compromising the car’s performance. With the priority shifting to bringing the car home, Ojeda managed the remaining laps to finish 19th.
“We picked up damage and just did what was needed to get to the finish.” said Ojeda.
Saturday’s recovery and Biggest Mover award provided a strong highlight for Ojeda and PremiAir Racing in a challenging Gold Coast 500. The team now faces a tight turnaround to prepare both cars ahead of next round of the Supercars Championship at Sandown Raceway in a fortnight.
