Ojeda & Lucchitti Close Out GT World Challenge Partnership at Sydney Motorsport Park

Jayden Ojeda and Paul Lucchitti have closed out their 2026 GT World Challenge Australia partnership at the Liqui Moly GT Festival Sydney, finishing seventh and ninth across the weekend at Sydney Motorsport Park.

The Tigani Motorsport pairing entered the final round with strong pace, with Ojeda topping Practice 1 on Friday before both drivers qualified third in their respective sessions on Saturday morning.

Starting Race 1 from the front of the field, Ojeda completed the opening stint before handing the Move My Wheels Mercedes-AMG GT3 to Lucchitti. The pair were on course for a podium finish, running in second between the two Tigani Motorsport sister entries. However, a drive-through penalty awarded late into the race for a pit stop procedure infringement dropped the #66 entry to seventh before the chequered flag.

The team faced another challenging race on Sunday, with Lucchitti taking the opening stint before handing the car to Ojeda. A slow pit stop cost combined with handling issues during the stop further limited their progress, resulting in a ninth-place finish.

“Not the final round of the season I was hoping for with Paul. We had a fast car all weekend but unfortunately things just didn’t go our way this round.” said Ojeda.

The Sydney Motorsport Park event marked the conclusion of Ojeda’s GT World Challenge Australia campaign, given the championship’s final round will take place alongside the Adelaide 500, where Ojeda will return his focus to the Supercars Championship.

Ojeda wished the Tigani Motorsport team well ahead of the championship finale in Adelaide.

For Lucchitti, the GT World Challenge Australia title mathematically remains within reach, with the Tigani Motorsport driver sitting 40 points from the championship lead heading into the final round.

The 2026 campaign has delivered another strong season of GT competition for Ojeda and Tigani Motorsport, with the pairing consistently challenging at the front of the field and securing valuable championship results throughout the year.
